Ford and Levis Club Champions, Bronze for Brenda and Shulver loses out to a camel!

Team Trisports held their sprint club championships at the Milton Keynes Sprint Triathlon which also hosted the British National Championships and  acted as a World Championship qualifier.

Steffan Ford and Elodie Levis took the club  honours with times of 1:05:33 and 1:15:54 for the 750m lake swim, 20k cycle and 5k run with Brenda Bozwood Davies continuing to roll back the years with a bronze medal in the British National Championships in the 65/69 age group with a time of 1:45:45

In the men’s event Mark Harris and Mark Robertson battled for 2nd with only 8 seconds the difference with times of 1:06:03 and 1:06:11.  In the mix right until the end was veteran athlete and Ironman Adam Laycock who finished in 1:06:25 with Tony Ward showing significant gains to make the club top five in 1:09:50.

In the women’s championship Levis deposed last year’s winner Anna Holden ( 1:17:02)  with veteran Jackie Perry showing all round  versatility with a third place in 1:20:13. Newest member Oli Lacigova showed great form to finish fourth in her debut triathlon in a time of 1:21:59 with Paula Adams rounding out the top five in 1:23:11.

Drew Lowrie was in top form over the sprint distance only a week after Ironman Lanzarote in a time of 1:21:27 with Liz Wood continuing her race by race  improvement with a time of 1:24:28.

Also competing were Pete Ryan 1:10:00, Sean Storey 1:10:38, Tony Shortland 1:17:01, Richard Thomas 1:18:09, Steve Moakes 1:18:13, Mark Beaver 1:19:02,Mark Malone 1:22:39, Heather Storey 1:25:50, Keith Cockburn 1:29:10, Alyson Sprawson 1:31:25

Sam Tophill raced the The Beaver Middle Distance Triathlon and improved on last years time with a 5:19:30 for the 1.9k swim/47  mile bike and half marathon to finish 4th in 45/49 age group.

Helen Shulver raced the Sheffield Half Marathon in  1:41:16 and was rather pleased with her performance until being overtaken by 2 men in a camel suit in the final stages of the race.

Earlier in the week Mike Russell raced the North Road CC Brickendon Green Evening 10 in  a time of 26.47.
