Steve Metcalfe (pictured) marked his last race for Team Trisports with a well-earned fifth in the Bassingbourn Heroes Half in a time of 1:22:08. The flat course was deceptively slow and conditions on the day were uncharacteristically warm which gave slightly slower times than expected. Kay Finch was first female for the club in 1:44:03 with Sam Tophill (1:46:26) catching Jackie Perry(1:47:36) in the last mile. Drew Lowrie completed the team with a 1:51:11
Also racing locally, Brian White continued his recent run of good form with second in age group and 45th overall from 2186 finishers in a time of 1:27:05 for the St Albans Half Marathon
Helen Shulver continued her tour of the north with an appearance in the iconic Blaydon Races which celebrated its 150th birthday. Shulver covered the 5.9 miles from Newcastle to Blaydon in 40:45 before joining the other 3589 finishers in celebration post-race fare of black pudding, tripe and pickled onions!
Brenda Bozwood Davies put in a strong performance in the women only Shock Absorber Sprint at Dorney Lakes finishing in 1:29:45 and Graham Perry earned a course PB at the Braintree Sprint Triathlon finishing in 1:20:21
In cycling, three riders were all in good form earning PBs for the 25 mile time trial distance at the Unity CC 25 near Chelmsford. Joel Farrow was first home for the club in 1:09:42 with Keith Cockburn 1:10:24 and Mike Russell 1:12:25
