Last Sunday saw athletes from the club take on the second round of the club championship at the Cowman triathlon.
The latest round was held over the middle distance of 1900m swim, 92km bike and 21km run and saw 22 club members take part in an event that also acted as the British Middle Distance Age Group Championship.
Finishing first for the club in a superb time of 4:33:38 was Rob Wilson, pictured, whose lightning fast time also included a 1:33:11 run split over the half-marathon distance.
Also posting run splits around the 90 minute mark were Chris Baxter and Simon Shaw who finished as 2nd and 3rd club finishers on the day, with race times of 4:43:09 and 4:48:07 respectively to earn their podium spots.
In the women’s championship Helen Shulver proved victorious in a time of 5:16:40 to finish 1:50 ahead of 2nd placed Kate Turner, who continues her build up to Ironman Germany. And racing in her first club championships, Sabrina Verjee rounded out the women’s podium in 5:37:25.
Success was also achieved by Richard Melvern, who upheld veteran honours by winning his age-group in a great time of 5:15:27.

Elsewhere, the event and distance may have changed but the high level of performance didn’t as four athletes from the club took on The Bedford Classic Triathlon.
Held over the Olympic distance of 1500m, 40km bike and 10km run, Ian Mackerness enjoyed a close battle with club-mate Steffan Ford to finish in an excellent 8th position overall in a time of 2:11:02 to finish just 36 seconds ahead of Ford, who crossed the line just one place behind in 9th (2:11:38).
Also competing were Mark Harris and Sean Storey, who both proved class acts to set times of 2:18:49 and 2:24:31 respectively, which saw them both finish in the top 25 overall.
At the Shock Absorber Women Only Challenge Sprint Triathlon, veteran athlete Brenda Bozwood-Davies finished 1st in her age-group with a time of 1.29.21.
Lee Thorp made his 5km road race debut on Saturday at the NHRR 5km and came a brilliant 2nd overall in a time of 18:19.
On Wednesday, James Bedford competed in the Stevenage CC 10 mile TT and finished in a time of 27:36.
The previous week, Ben Turner and Sabrina Verjee took on a completely different challenge at the Adventure planetFear Open12 North Yorkshire adventure racing event.
Taking part over 12 hours and consisting of challenges as diverse as mountain biking, running, kayaking, zip lining and climbing, the pair finished 8th overall in mixed pair category.
