FORD’S OLYMPIC PURSUIT!

FORD’S OLYMPIC PURSUIT!

Last weekend saw a brace of results for Hitchin based triathlon club Team Trisports as two athletes got some competitive cycle racing under their belts.

First up, and with the forthcoming triathlon season rapidly approaching, Steffan Ford took the opportunity to hone his time trialling skills at the Lea Valley 25m TT on Sunday.

Starting just ahead of Olympic champion Rebecca Romero, Ford managed to remain unfazed by his famous pursuer to record a five minute PB as he reduced his time from last year from 73 minutes to 68.

The event also allowed Ford to test his new Trek Madone 5.2 race bike that has been supplied by local multisport specialists Trisports as part of their Development Squad initiative with the club.

Cycle ace Alex Turner also put pedal to the metal at the weekend by competing in the Spring Chicken Road Race in Buckinghamshire and finished in a superb 10th place overall.
