Duo complete Italian job
Two athletes from Hitchin based triathlon club FVS TRI completed their own ‘Italian Job’ on Sunday by taking part in the ETU Cross Triathlon Championships in Sardinia, Italy. This was the first time athletes from the club have participated in such an event and provided Dil Wetheril and Andy Chatterton their first taste of Great Britain age-group representation as they undertook the 1500m sea swim, 32km mountain bike and 10km trail run.
Andy was first to cross the line for the club, in a time of 3:29:29 to finish 21st male in the 45-49 age-group. Also competing in the same age-group, Dil clocked 3:36:59 to finish 29th in his category.
On Friday; Steffan Ford made the most of the great weather to set a new PB of 17:36 at the Brooks Last Friday of the Month 5k road race.
Fresh from his FVS TRI Club Championship win the previous weekend, Rob Wilson again competed in the Stevenage Cycling Club Evening 10 Time Trial Series on Wednesday, setting a time of 25:23 in the process.
