FVS TRI cycle specialist Alex Turner was the first home for FVS TRI at the Lea Valley 25 Mile Cycle Time Trial in a time of 1:03:15. Michael Clark 1:08:29 was just ahead of James Foy who completed his first TT in 1:08:53. Also racing for the first time over the distance was Steffan Ford 1:12:04 and veteran triathlete Anna Priestley 1:26:10.

Turner and Clark, along with Ironman Gavin May have been responsible for the new cycling programme at FVS TRI which has focussed on preparing triathletes for the delights of time trialling, the competitive cycle element of age group triathlon and duathlon. The new initiative will see many club members competing in TTs and for the first time FVS TRI will be entering a team TT event with groups of 3 riders working as a unit.

Richard Thomas used the Bath Half Marathon as preparation for his first Ironman event this year and earned a PB in 1:43:53 to finish 2102nd from a field of over 11000.

Darren Greene completed the Grindleford Gallop 21 mile trail run in the Peak District in 3h 31m. Chris Suckling ran the Pembrokeshire Coastal Marathon in 4:30:21 to finish 21st.

Kevin Smart and Suzy Hawkins travelled to West Sussex to cycle the 70 mile Burgess Hill Sportive which featured 5600ft of climbing. Suzy earned a silver standard and Kevin scored bronze for the event finishing together in 5 hours.
