FVS TRI’s Mark Robertson won the third race in the Dorney Lakes Midweek Sprint Triathlon Series in a time of 58:52. Second in the previous event, Mark won the sprint for the line beating the winner of the previous two events by 1 second in a finish that saw only 7 seconds separating the top 3. The popular event held at the venue for the 2012 Olympic Rowing Regatta featured 250 starters for the 750m lake swim, 20k multi lap bike course and 5k flat fast run.
Simon Hall ran in the Wellingborough 5 mile Road Race on Sunday and finished 8th overall in 28:32.
Ironman Rob Wilson recorded a PB of 1:01:36 in poor conditions on the A1 in the Hitchin Nomad Middle Marker 25 Mile Cycle Time Trial in final preparation for next weekends Norseman, probably the hardest long distance triathlon in the world.
Rob Wilson was also in action mid week in the Stevenage Evening 10 Mile TT with a PB of 23:47 and 5th on the night. Mark Malone was second home for FVS TRI in a super PB of nearly a minute to finish in 24:13. PBs also for Mark Grayson (24:38), Tim Smith 25:33,
Mike Russell (25:55). Suzy Hawkins was slowed down by a chain off but still finished in 28:21. Simon (Bam) Douglas made his debut and completed the course in a creditable 29:02, although he did fall off after the event when handing in his race number!
