20 members of Hitchin based triathlon club FVS TRI raced at the first local triathlon in Bedford with Mark Robertson leading the team home in 6th overall and 2nd in 20-24 age group  with a 1:04:54 for the 400m pool swim 24k bike and 5k run. Simon Patenall was 2nd home for the Club and also 2nd in the 40-44 age group in  a time of 1:09:44 for 14th. Kerri Renshaw was first female for the Club and 2nd in the female race in a time of 1:12:28. Suzy Hawkins was 2nd female for FVS TRI in  her first outing for the club finishing in 1:20:45.  Andy Mussett was 1st in the 17-18 age group in 1:14:52 and 32nd overall. Brenda Bozwood Davies was 1st in the 60-64 age group in 1:39:26.  There were significant PBs for Graham Perry and Simon Douglas who both improved by 6 minutes from last year. Drew Lowrie completed his first triathlon finishing in 1:23:41 and Shawn Reader also competed for FVS TRI for the first time finishing in 1:24:58

Top veteran triathlete Ian Mackerness completed the Icknield Road Club 25 Mile Cycle Time Trial in his fastest time for 12 years in a superb time of 56:55.

Last week Mark Robertson was 6th overall in the Dunston Triathlon in 58:05 for the 400m pool swim, 20k bike and 5k run. Natalie Barnard was 3rd female overall and 1st in the 20-24 age group in 1:01:24. Brenda Bozwood Davies won the over 60 female race in 1:28:12

Richard Melvern raced the tough Ashbourne Duathlon over a hilly 12k run, 40k bike and 4k run to finish 1st Male over 60 and hopes to now compete in the Age Group World Duathlon Championships.
